Bike Corrals

Bike Corral

I just wrote a Rose and Thorns piece to the Springfield News Leader. I think it’s time for the city to put in a bike corral downtown in front of the Mudhouse. They took the old bike rack out months ago and have never replaced it. It wasn’t even the city that took it out, it was the downtown tax district. We were in Chico California this year and at each end of the block, on both sides of the street there was a bike corral. It was great, and there weren’t bikes chained to every sign and post everywhere.  It’s time to step up and acknowledge bicycles as a mode of transportation, not a toy.
