Bee Landing

Richard and I went to a top bar beekeeping seminar up by Stockton MO presented by James Zitter from Bee Landing. It was a very informative day and we got to see a completely different way of doing things. He looks at beekeeping from a very natural way of doing things and cooperating with the bees instead of managing them. By this I mean he helps them live up to their potential in a healthy way, instead of pushing them to produce more that he can harvest by taking all of their winter food source and feeding them sugar or high fructose corn syrup like most other beekeepers do. Richard picked up a set of plans so we can build a couple of hives and start up a little apiary so we can supply our own sweetner and beeswax. Looking forward to having some of the little critters again.
